66th Annual Grammy Awards

On the night of February 4th, 2024, all of the best artists from 2023 gathered to receive their awards from the Recording Academy and celebrate the music industry. From amazing achievements to unforgettable performances, here is a closer look at how the 66th annual Grammys went.

Taylor Swift made history with her album “Midnights” by breaking world records and winning the Album Of The Year award for the 4th time. This album also won Best Pop Vocal Album. Along with this, Miley Cyrus finally received her first Grammy award, even though she has had a huge impact on the music industry for a long time. She was honored with Best Record and Best Pop Solo Performer awards this year. She also blew away the crowd with her amazing performance, in which she sang her song “Flowers.”

Billie Eilish and FINNEAS, her older brother, who is also her songwriter, won Best Song of the Year with the song “What Was I Made For?” which was a song made for the Barbie movie. This song also won them the award for Best Song Written For Visual Media. Watch out for the new artist, the rising star Victoria Monet, who won Best New Artist. You might know her for her song “On My Mama,” but if you don’t, get ready because she is a huge promise for the music industry. Killer Mike killed it at the Grammys. He won 3 awards: Best Rap Album, Best Rap Song, and Best Rap Performance. Even though he is considered a great musician, he is not that great of a person. The rap star got arrested and withdrawn by the cops at the event for misdemeanor battery. In addition to that, to surprise the crowd, the well-known band from the 1960s, the Beatles, won the Best Music Video award with the video clip from their song “I’m Only Sleeping.” Bryan Schlam was the video director, while Jonathan Clyde, Sophie Hilton, Sue Loughlin, and Laura Thomas were the video producers.

Along with the categories that have already become tradition, this year, there were three new categories: Best African Music Performance, Best Alternative Jazz Album, and Best Pop Dance Recording. With these latest additions, we can now recognize a wide range of genres and backgrounds and celebrate the diversity in music.

In conclusion, the unforgettable performances and the astonishing awards made the Grammys a night to remember for all the artists involved as well as anyone who loves music.
