The Eras Tour and What to Expect

You have probably heard of The Eras Tour, a tour by Taylor Swift that includes 10 of her albums, also known as “eras.” These include Taylor Swift, Fearless, Speak Now, Red, 1989, Reputation, Lover, Folklore, Evermore and Midnights. This tour has been going around the US, but finally, it will be happening in Brazil in November. Taylor Swift fans, also known as Swifties, go all out for this concert, and together, they make many traditions such as chants and friendship bracelets. They believe this is more than a regular concert, proving why the tickets for the Brazil concerts were so hard to get, even after Taylor opened bonus shows.

Each Taylor Swift era holds a different vibe or a different theme, where she is telling a phase of her own life story. One thing Taylor Swift fans do at the concert is trade friendship bracelets, a term used in her song “You’re On Your Own, Kid.” These are beaded bracelets with words relating to Taylor Swift. Many fans make a lot of those so they can trade with other fans before and after the concert, therefore creating a stronger connection between all Swifties. Another tradition Swifties hold at concerts is yelling chants during songs. One of the biggest chants is to yell, “you forgive, you forget, but you never let it go” during the song “Bad Blood,” right after Taylor sings, “Band-Aids don’t fix bullet holes / You say sorry just for show / If you live like that, you live with ghosts.”

The show consists of 45 songs ever since “Long Live” was added permanently to the setlist right after the release of “Speak Now (TV).” In the setlist, there are songs from every one of her eras except “Debut” (Taylor Swift), going through Lover, Fearless, Evermore, Reputation, Speak Now, Red, Folklore, 1989, and Midnights. Every night, there is a special twist so that the shows will always be different; between the 1989 and Midnights set, Swift sings two songs that change every night and are performed in an acoustic set; the fans call them “surprise songs” she tries her best not to repeat them creating rules such as she can repeat if she messes it up or if it is on Midnights since it is her newest album.

The shows have sold out in hours for every sale; fans are going wild over tickets and spending hours in line for merch.  The dimension of The Eras Tour is outrageous; it got to a point where the streets and cities she goes through are changing their name for the day; she has become mayor for a weekend. The show is of extraordinary dimension, and I bet everyone would love the experience. It is an amazing show that engages the fans in this fascinating experience. Taylor Swift has always had a great impact on the “Music Industry,” and the Eras Tour is no different. It causes an impact everywhere it passes; if you’re a fan, it guarantees it will be a life-changing experience.
